Day to Night
One room, two lives. Filter coffee and sarnies while the sun’s up; vinyl, cocktails and Guinness once it sets.
A warm, timber-clad café and bar on Lygon Street, inspired by Japan’s neighbourhood haunts.

Good Measure opened in 2021, started by Max Allison, Brandon Jo & Mitchell Miller — friends who loved the intimate, do-anything neighbourhood bars they’d found in Japan and wanted to build one of their own on Lygon Street.
The result is a space styled like a quintessential northside living room: timber cladding, house plants, vintage furniture and a magpie-emblazoned sign by the door, just near Argyle Square.
By day, it’s all coffee and sarnies — the signature Mont Blanc, a sage-green La Marzocco and Code Black beans. By night, the vinyl spins, the cocktails pour and the Guinness settles. One room, two lives.

Code Black beans, a sage-green La Marzocco and our cult Mont Blanc — coffee taken seriously, served without fuss.
Timber, house plants and vintage furniture inspired by Japan’s neighbourhood haunts. Walk in, stay a while.

No bookings, no fuss — just walk in. We’re on Lygon Street every day from 8am, with the vinyl spinning long after dark.
